You second-guess every interaction, but you hate seeing them suffer alone.

You’ve spent countless hours researching and seeking advice online to better understand your teen’s needs.

You’re trying to engage in open and supportive conversations, checking in on how their feeling and offering words of encouragement

Still, you find yourself replaying the challenging moments from the day – questioning if you did and said the right things to support your teen.

You want nothing more than to see your teen free from the challenges that hold them back- whether it’s anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, or any other struggles they may be facing.

But the more you try to help...

the more they pull away.

The 2021 youth risk behavior survey REPORTS:

More than 1 in 5 high school students seriously considered attempting suicide and 1 in 10 attempted suicide.

More than 4 in 10 students felt persistently sad or hopeless.

WE understand the adolescent brain.

Teens are not mini-adults. They still need boundaries and support.

Our counselors help teens process difficult emotions and teach them how to respond more effectively and appropriately to their thoughts and feelings.

Here's what their learning process may look like:

You’ve have already diligently tried every last parenting strategy to help your teen. Rewards and consequences clearly aren’t cutting it.

You’ve sought advice from friends, family, and other parents who have been through similar situations. What works for someone else doesn’t always work for you.

You’ve engaged the school to find additional resources and encouraged your teen to participate in hobbies and activities to boost their social engagement. These external actions may help, but they won’t heal.

You’ve opened space for heartfelt conversations and offered guidance. Sometimes all that an earnest, loving parent needs is the bridge of additional support.

You long to see your teen happy, healthy, and thriving.

This is what happens when they can fully embrace their true self, form meaningful connections, and pursue their own dreams.

Some of the treatment modalities that we specialize in include:

We typically see clients once per week. If you need to change that to every other week later on, that’s okay, but initially once per week is best for at least the first couple of months. Any less often than every other week is not recommended, it’s just not enough support, especially initially.

Sessions are typically 1 hour. Some EMDR processing sessions can be beneficial at 90 minutes, but you will work with your teen’s therapist to figure out what’s best.

Our intake sessions are $200 and all following regular sessions are $175. We do not accept insurance, but we can provide instructions for filing a claim to use your out-of-network benefits if available.

We do offer discounted services with one of our interns on a limited basis.

We will send you a link to a client portal with all relevant practice paperwork for you to complete before your session.

Have your teen complete the questionnaire themselves so they can share their experience and symptoms from their perspective.

You can schedule or reschedule appointments from the portal and set up reminders.

The counselor will keep the content of therapy confidential in order to maintain trust with the child/teen. However, if the child discloses anything that indicates they’re in danger (self harm or suicidal ideation) we will communicate that with parents right away. We’re also mandated reporters which means we’ll report any abuse, neglect, etc. There is specific information about this in the informed consent documents.

If you have a diagnosis from a doctor, we can make recommendations for you based on that current diagnosis. If you don’t already have an official diagnosis, we can help you work with our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner partner to begin the assessment and diagnosis process and then collaborate to build the best recommendation based on your needs.
